LEVINE V. HARPER

Receptionist Who Breaks Leg In Fall Down Stairs Settles For $900,000

Wendy Levine, a 47 year old receptionist, fell down a flight of stairs in a secondary residence on defendant's property. Defendant claimed that Plaintiff was incapacitated and caused the accident by not being careful.

BIREN|KATZMAN established that the secondary residence was bootlegged and that the staircase was dangerous because it had illegal treads, risers and an absence of hand rails.

Ms. Levine sustained a severe comminuted fracture of the distal portion of her left femur, internal derangement of her left knee and shoulder nerve impingement. BIREN|KATZMAN developed evidence that the injuries would have long lasting vocational impact on Plaintiff.
