Our Mission: Aggressive excellence in the contingency fee representation of plaintiffs who have sustained serious personal and/or financial injuries.
Verdicts: McWilliams v. Southern California Edison

With more than 35 years of experience representing plaintiffs who have sustained serious personal injuries or financial losses, the trial lawyers of BIREN|KATZMAN have successfully handled hundreds of cases, collecting more than $250 million for our clients. The following case is just one example:

McWILLIAMS V. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON

Millrights Paid $1 Million + For Rotator Cuff Tears

John McWilliams and Cornelius Ramsey were working as millwrights within an Edison plant when a turban exploded. The force hurled the men more than 20 feet through the air. Both sustained rotator cuff tears, as well as other assorted injuries, which precluded them from returning to their work as millwrights; work which is extraordinarily heavy.

BREN/KATZMAN established that the plant and equipment were designed and constructed without adequate secondary safety features. As a result, when the turban over pressurized, there was no safety valve to relieve the excess pressure.

The cases settled for more than $1 million.
