Tesla driver blames fatal accident on new car smell

Tesla finds itself in the news time and time again, sometimes for good things and other times for bad events. This time around, the company is involved in a story in which a California man either fell asleep or passed out at the wheel of his Telsa Model S, subsequently striking and killing a motorcyclist. The driver is blaming the accident on the vehicle's "new car smell."

According to reports, the 63-year-old man was driving on a highway when he lost consciousness. His vehicle veered into oncoming traffic and hit a motorcycle. The car was traveling at a speed of 55 mph when he hit the bike. As a result, the cyclist, a 40-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

After a several-month long investigation, in which the vehicle was closely examined, the man was charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter. The man purchased the vehicle approximately 10 days before the accident, and claimed he had been using baking soda to neutralize the new car smell. In addition to the misdemeanor lawsuit, the family of the cyclist is filing a lawsuit against the driver of the Model S as well as Tesla.

As a result of this fatal accident, there is a lot going on. The driver is blaming it on the new car smell, and he has been charged with a serious crime. Along with this, the family of the cyclist has filed a lawsuit in an attempt to recover compensation.
